Three Huskies Earn All-Pac-12 Honors

SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 Conference announced the 2022 All-Pac-12 women's soccer teams on Tuesday, with three Huskies earning all-league laurels.
 
Summer Yates earned a spot on the All-Pac-12 First Team, while Shae Holmes was tabbed to the All-Pac-12 Second Team. Rounding things out, Kelsey Branson was selected to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.
 
Yates makes it 5-for-5 in earning a postseason honor from the conference, including three-straight All-Pac-12 First Team selections. The Pasco, Washington, native also garnered a second team selection in 2019 and an all-freshman team honor in 2018. Yates led the Huskies with seven goals in 2022, also pacing Washington and tying for sixth in the Pac-12 with six assists.
 
Starting all 19 matches on the back line, Holmes earned her first career All-Pac-12 selection. A stalwart on the defensive side for the Huskies, Holmes also provided a huge spark going forward, tying Yates for the team lead with six assists, tied for sixth most in the league. The Husky centerback was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week after scoring the game-winner in UW's win over Utah.
 
Coming on late in her rookie campaign, Branson becomes the first Husky to earn a Pac-12 All-Freshman Team selection since Yates in 2018. After starting the season in a reserve role, Branson started the final seven matches of the season. Of the San Diego product's five goals, four came against Pac-12 competition, including the game-winner in the Apple Cup victory over Washington State, UW's first win in Pullman since 1996.
