Ducks Men’s Basketball Signs Top Recruiting Class

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon men's basketball head coach Dana Altman announced today the signing of three prospects for the 2023 recruiting class.
 
Two Oregonians are among the signees, as well as five-star prospect KJ Evans Jr., the No. 11 ranked recruit in the nation according to 247Sports.
 
Portland native Mookie Cook (6-7, 210) finished his high school playing career at AZ Compass Prep, one of the nation's top prep schools in Chandler, Ariz. He ranks No. 15 in the ESPN rankings, giving the Ducks two top-20 prospects in 2023.
 
Hailing from West Linn, Jackson Shelstad is the reigning Gatorade Oregon Player of the Year. Shelstad led the Lions to a 21-3 record, averaging 27.0 points, 5.5 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 4.3 steals per game.
 
Evans Jr. (6-9, 200) is from Baltimore and will finish his career at Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida. The left-handed forward is poised to make an immediate impact for the Ducks as a consensus five-star prospect.
