VanThof Signs Seven in First Class with Sun Devil Lacrosse

Nov 10, 2022

TEMPE, Ariz. - Sun Devil Lacrosse Head Coach Taryn VanThof announced the addition of seven student-athletes as a part of the 2023 signing class.

VanThof's first class as the Arizona State Head Coach did not disappoint, featuring seven individuals with versatile and impressive skill sets. Each are in the midst of decorated prep careers and were widely pursued by programs across the country.

"This class committed to the program," Head Coach Tayrn VanThof acknowledged. "That has a lot to do with the girls on the current roster and everything that is in place here that attracted them to ASU. That didn't change and that is the exciting factor for them. Since we came in as a new staff, they have been on board from the very first phone call. I am looking forward to coaching this 2023 class."

To offset the loss of 24 seniors this season and next, VanThof addressed the team's needs, landing prospects at nearly every position on the field. All seven members of the 2023 class project to fit at multiple positions, giving VanThof flexibility with her roster.

"We bring in three attackers, three midfielders, and a defender," VanThof remarked. "We were able to cover the whole field with this signing class. The midfielders we brought in can go on either end and impact both sides of the ball. The attackers have produced at an impressive level and the defender has the toughness and instincts that we are looking for on the back end. This class has the ability to make an immediate impact in every phase of the game."

Resumes for the signing class include State Championships, All-American & All-State honors, team captaincy, and equal success academically.

"Their accolades speak for themselves. It is part of the reason they were recruited here," Coach VanThof added. "From a leadership standpoint, we look at our incoming prospects to come in and be leaders. You try to bring the best of the best into your program. It will be fun to get to watch them grow and develop once they get here."
