Huskies Ink Four-Star Recruit Wesley Yates III
SEATTLE – Four-star recruit Wesley Yates III has signed a National Letter of Intent, announcing his commitment to the University of Washington men's basketball program.
Yates is a 6'4" shooting guard out of Beaumont, Texas and is the 37th-ranked prospect on ESPN's Top-100. He also reportedly received offers from Gonzaga, Baylor, Memphis and Auburn, among other schools.

Yates has several ties to the Huskies and Seattle. His father was born here and his cousin, Quincy Pondexter, is currently serving as an assistant coach on Hopkins' staff. Yates averaged 19.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game last season at Beaumont United, leading his team to a 36-3 record and a second consecutive 5A championship. He was just named to the 2023 Jersey Mike's Naismith High School Trophy Preseason Watch List.
