Top-20 matchups on FOX and ESPN headline Pac-12 football in week 12, with championship game berths at stake
SAN FRANCISCO – Pac-12 football is ramping up as the postseason approaches, with a pair of monumental matchups on tap this weekend that could have significant ramifications for Conference championship game berths and future College Football Playoff (CFP) ranking appearances.
The Pac-12 led all conferences with six teams earning spots in the CFP rankings released this past Tuesday evening: No. 7 USC, No. 10 Utah, No. 12 Oregon, No. 16 UCLA, No. 17 Washington, and No. 23 Oregon State. All six ranked programs are in action this weekend, including USC-UCLA and Utah-Oregon matchups on FOX and ESPN, respectively.
No. 7 USC at No. 16 UCLA
Saturday, Nov. 19 at 5 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. MT on FOX
The Los Angeles crosstown rivalry is renewed as No. 7 USC and No. 16 UCLA square off at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. MT on FOX.
UCLA pulled off a 62-33 victory in the matchup last season and seeks back-to-back wins against the Trojans for the first time since winning three-straight against USC from 2012-14. Some serious offensive firepower will be on display this weekend in Pasadena, with a Heisman-caliber quarterback matchup between UCLA’s Dorian Thompson-Robinson and USC’s Caleb Williams. Thompson-Robinson has hurdled defenders on his way to seven rushing scores this season and added 20 touchdowns through the air, becoming UCLA’s all-time leader in career passing touchdowns this season. Williams leads the Pac-12 in passing touchdowns with 31 on the year and has thrown just two interceptions in 342 pass attempts.
No. 10 Utah at No. 12 Oregon
Saturday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. PT / 8:30 p.m. MT on ESPN
A rematch of the 2021 Pac-12 Championship Game is on tap for Saturday evening, as No. 10 Utah travels to Eugene to take on No. 12 Oregon. ESPN’s coverage from Autzen Stadium gets rolling at 7:30 p.m. PT / 8:30 p.m. MT.
Both teams enter the matchup 8-2 overall and 6-2 in Conference play. Oregon looks to bounce back from a heartbreaking loss to Washington this past weekend, a game that saw Ducks quarterback Bo Nix tally a rushing score to bring his total to 14 this season, the most by a Pac-12 quarterback since Oregon’s Marcus Mariota (15) in 2014. The Utes posted a resounding victory over Stanford last Saturday, led by a 180-yard, two-score effort from running back Tavion Thomas. The victory capped an undefeated home record (6-0) for Utah this season.
