USC Women’s Volleyball Adds Allie Hazelwood to 2023 Class

LOS ANGELES – The USC women's volleyball team will add setter Allie Hazelwood (Madison, Miss./Madison Central HS) to its 2023 freshman class, head coach Brad Keller announced on Thursday, Nov. 17. 
 
"Allie is a talented setter and a respected leader on the court," said Keller. "She comes from a volleyball coaching lineage and is a star in her own right. Allie has great volleyball acumen, timing, and cadence when she plays and is someone who can step in and make an immediate impact in a program like ours. We're excited that she'll be with us in the fall."
 
Hazelwood was named to the AVCA Girls' High School All-America second team on and is the nation's 80th-ranked recruit in the 2023 class by PrepVolleyball.com. She was named to the Mississippi All-6A Region 4 team and the 6A A11 all-tournament team. Hazelwood was a nominee for the 2022 Under Armour All-America camp and was Madison Central's MaxPreps Player of the Year three times and a regular member of the all-scholar team.
 
As a junior in high school, Hazelwood was named to the AAU Junior National All-America team after helping lead Infinity Volleyball Academy to an Open Division third-place finish at the AAU National Championships. She was a Sophomore79 and Freshman59 choice by PrepVolleyball.com, a MaxPreps first-team All-American, and was named to the AVCA's Phenom Watch List. Hazelwood's mother Jenny is in her first year as the head coach at Southern Mississippi and her father Brian Hazelwood is the owner and operator of the Infinity Volleyball Academy in Ridgeland, Miss.
 
The Women of Troy (19-8, 11-5 Pac-12) are third in the Pac-12 standings with just four remaining regular-season matches. USC will play its next three contests on the road at Oregon State (7-19, 2-14 on Friday night (Nov. 18), at 12th-ranked Oregon (19-5, 13-3) on Sunday afternoon (No. 20), and at Washington on Wednesday (Nov. 23). The Trojans will conclude the Pac-12 slate with a home meeting against crosstown rival UCLA on Friday (Nov. 25) at 8 p.m. for Senior Night.
