The Women of Oregon, ranked ninth in the country, earned their national bid with a runner-up showing at the NCAA West Regional Championships (Nov. 11) in University Place, Wash. The 21st-ranked UO men were one of 13 at-large team selections after their fourth-place finish at the regional met.

Saturday will mark the 46th national appearance for the Men of Oregon while the UO women are in the meet for a 33rd time in program history.

Collectively, the Ducks racked up seven all-region accolades which are awarded to the top-25 runners in each of the nine regions. Aaron Bienenfeld led the way with a runner-up finish in his first 10K of the year and was joined on the all-region team by Abdinasir Hussein (16th place) and Quincy Norman (20).

On the women's side, Izzy Thornton-Bott was fourth at regionals to match her finish at the Pac-12 meet two weeks prior. She was one of four UO women to earn all-region honors alongside Maddy Elmore in 12th place, and Malia Pivec and Harper McClain in 23rd and 24th, respectively.

Each squad returns three runners from last year's NCAA Championships including Bienenfeld who ran to All-America accolades with an 18th-place finish in Tallahassee. Hussein and Norman made their nationals debut a season ago. The women return Pivec, McClain and Nicole Louw from their top-seven lineup.

Thornton-Bott, the Ducks' top finisher in the past three meets, will be making her NCAA Cross Country Championships debut.

On the Biggest Stage
The Men and Women of Oregon have combined for 10 NCAA cross country team titles and the UO men have won eight individual titles with two three-time national champions in Steve Prefontaine (1970-71, '73) and Edward Cheserek (2013-15).
