Four Bruins Earn Academic All-District Honors

Four Bruins – wide receiver Jake Bobo, snapper Jack Landherr IV, linebacker Carson Schwesinger, wide receiver Matt Sykes -- earned spots on the 2022 Academic All-District® Men's Football Team, selected by College Sports Communicators. The CSC Academic All-District® Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Each student-athlete must attain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or higher to be eligible for the award honors.
 
Bobo is second on the UCLA team in receptions this season with 47 catches for a team-best 727 yards. He is tied for seventh in the Pac-12 with six touchdown receptions. Bobo is 10th in the Pac-12 in yards per game (66.09) and also rates 10th in the conference in overall receiving yards. He has two 100-yard receiving games this season. Bobo is a past honoree on the Academic All-ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) squad and as a CoSIDA All-District selection. Landherr IV, who was a 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, is a key member of the Bruin special teams who has successfully executed the snapping duties on extra points, field goals and punts this season. He has been a member of the Athletic Director's Academic honor roll at UCLA from 2019-2022 and earned a spot on the 2020 and 2021 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll. Schwesinger operates as a member of multiple special teams units and as a reserve linebacker. He has totaled 14 tackles on the season and 0.5 tackles for loss. Sykes has caught six passes this season for 86 yards and registered his first career touchdown at Colorado. He also has two stops on special teams this season. Sykes was on the 2021 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll and has earned multiple spots on the UCLA Athletic Director's Honor Roll. 
 
These four student-athletes will now advance to the ballot for the 2022 Academic All-America Men's Football Team which will be announced in December after a vote by the CSC membership.
