Stellar Performance Earns Emily Venters All-America Honors
NEW ORLEANS – After a memorable senior season and run at the NCAA Championships, Emily Venters of the Utah cross country team garnered her second All-America honor by the USTFCCCA of her career while also earning the ninth All-America distinction for the Woman of Utah in cross country.
The Lawrence, Kan., product crossed the finish line with a time of 19:54.1 for 12th overall at the NCAA Championships this past Saturday – which was held at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course.
Venters becomes the fourth Ute to garner All-America status in recent years for head coach Kyle Kepler, who has steadily ascended the Utes into the national picture since joining the Pac-12.
Her 12th-place finish helped the Women of Utah take 12th overall at the NCAA Championships, which was its best finish ever. Meanwhile, her time and placement were the second-highest ever by any Ute at the NCAA Championships – trailing just Grayson Murphy.
