Kiki de Bruijne Earns All-Region Honors

Junior midfielder Kiki de Bruijne was named to the First Team All-West Region by the NFHCA on Tuesday.

BERKELEY – California field hockey midfielder Kiki de Bruijne has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-West Region First Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Division I teams are separated into five regions: Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Northeast, South, and West with each region honoring 16 student-athletes on the first team and up to 16 student-athletes on the second team.

This is the second career all-region honor for the native of The Netherlands, de Bruijne earned second-team honors as a sophomore. The junior has had a busy awards season, having already earned First Team All-America East and America East All-Academic honors.

This season, de Bruijne scored a career-best four goals, all coming in America East play. The four goals tied her for seventh most in the conference. She played and started in all 15 games and finished the season with 25 shots, 17 on goal for a .680 shots on goal percentage.
