Pac-12 continues to lead country with 6 teams in College Football Playoff rankings

Nov 22, 2022

The fourth College Football Playoff rankings of the 2022 season were revealed Tuesday and the Pac-12 continues to lead the country with six teams in the Top 25.

It's the first time the Pac-12 has had six teams ranked in consecutive polls since 2016.

USC leads the way at No. 6 overall, the highest CFP ranking in program history. The Trojans' victory over UCLA last Saturday moved them up a spot as well as secured a berth in the Pac-12 Football Championship Game.

Oregon re-entered the Top 10, rising three spots to No. 9 after knocking off Utah in Eugene. The Ducks have been ranked in the Top 10 in three of the first four CFP polls this season.

Washington ascended to No. 13 in the latest CFP rankings after a convincing win over Colorado. It's the Huskies' highest ranking since they were ranked ninth in the final CFP poll of 2018.

Utah, which closes the regular season Saturday at Colorado, fell four spots to No. 14 after its loss to Oregon.

UCLA, now ranked 18th, tumbled two spots after losing to USC, the second straight week the Bruins have dropped two spots. They visit Cal for their regular-season finale on Friday.

Oregon State jumped two spots after routing Arizona State, now checking in at No. 21, the best CFP ranking in program history. The Beavers have won eight games for the first time since 2012 and seek a signature win Saturday against Oregon in Corvallis.

USC's opponent in the Pac-12 Football Championship Game will be determined this week, with Oregon, Washington and Utah still vying for the berth.
