Beavs Conclude Season with Loss at No. 10 Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon State volleyball team fell in straight sets (25-13, 25-14, 25-9) to No. 10 Oregon in their final match of the 2022 season on Friday evening at Matthew Knight Arena.
The Beavs were unable to contain the top-five Oregon hitting attack, as the Ducks (23-5, 17-3 Pac-12) hit .410 in the match and held Oregon State to their second lowest dig total of the season, at just 27 in the match.
In her final collegiate match, setter Inna Balyko was the lone Beaver in double figures, totaling 13 assists over the three sets. OSU was held to a season-low 20 kills with a team-high eight coming from Mychael Vernon.
Oregon State was held to a negative attacking percentage in the opening set, as the Ducks raced out to a 1-0 set lead in the match.  An 8-1 run by the Ducks was aided by five Beaver errors that pushed Oregon ahead 18-9. OSU was held to just six kills in the opening set with the Beavs falling, 25-13, in the first.
A 3-0 spurt by the Beavs gave OSU the early advantage in set two at 7-6. However, the Ducks responded with a 10-2 dash to grab control of the second, 16-9. The Beavs struggled with serve receive in the second, as six service aces by Oregon gave the Ducks a two-set advantage behind a 25-14 victory in the second set.
The Beavs fell behind 8-0 in the third, as six more aces and a .524 attacking clip from Oregon gave the Ducks the 25-9 win in the final stanza.
Oregon State concludes the 2022 season at 7-23 on the year and 2-18 in Pac-12 action.OUR MISSION
