SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 announced today the All-Pac-12 honors for the 2022 women's volleyball season, as voted on by the Conference's head coaches.

Pac-12 Champion Stanford garnered four of the five major postseason honors: Kendall Kipp was voted Pac-12 Player of the Year; Kami Miner earned her second career individual honor, picking up the Pac-12 Setter of the Year award after being named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2021; Elena Oglivie was voted the Pac-12 Libero of the Year; and Cardinal head coach Kevin Hambly was voted Pac-12 Coach of the Year for the second time. Oregon’s Mimi Colyer was voted Pac-12 Freshman of the Year to round out the individual award winners.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Kendall Kipp, OPP, Stanford (Newport Beach, Calif.)

Kendall Kipp becomes the 13th Cardinal to garner Pac-12 Player of the Year honors, while it is the 17th overall player of the year award for Stanford. Kipp is the first Cardinal to earn the award since former two-time AVCA National Player of the Year Kathryn Plummer collected the honor in 2017 and 2018. Kipp has been key to Stanford’s Pac-12 title run in 2022, helping the Cardinal reel off 18 straight wins en route to their first league championship since 2019. The senior’s 4.31 kills per set, 42 aces and 5.21 points per set were team bests and ranked third, third and second, respectively, in the Pac-12. Kipp will begin the postseason ranked 20th nationally in kills per set and ninth in points per set as the Newport Beach native seeks her second national title as a Cardinal.

FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR - Mimi Colyer, OH, Oregon (Lincoln, Calif.)

Mimi Colyer is just the second Duck to be voted Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and first in over 30 years after Oregon’s Michelle Krebsbach picked up the award in the inaugural season of Pac-12 women’s volleyball in 1986. Colyer has started all 28 matches in 2022, helping Oregon to its best conference season in program history with a record 17 league wins, a No. 9 ranking and a 13-match winning streak heading into the postseason. In her first collegiate season, she led Oregon with 4.20 kills per set, 4.89 points per set and 37 aces while registering 11 double-doubles. Colyer earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors a record eight times this season, breaking the old mark of six set by USC’s Ebony Nwanebu in 2013. Colyer and the Ducks, who were selected as the No. 10 national seed in the NCAA tournament and the No. 3 seed in their quarter of the bracket, begin postseason action hosting first and second round matches at Matthew Knight Arena.

SETTER OF THE YEAR - Kami Miner, S, Stanford (Redondo Beach, Calif.)

After being named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year a season ago, Kami Miner followed with another outstanding campaign in her sophomore season en route to the 2022 Pac-12 Setter of the Year honor. She is the third Stanford setter to earn the award after former standouts Madi Bugg (2013, 2014, 2015) and Jenna Gray (2017, 2018, 2019) each garnered the honor three times. Overall, a Cardinal has been voted setter of the year seven of the 12 years since the award was introduced in 2011. Miner is averaging 11.25 assists per set, which is the top mark in the Conference and ranks eighth nationally. Her steady play helped the Cardinal to a 22-4 record, a 19-1 mark in Conference play and their 20th Pac-12 title in program history. Miner keyed an efficient Stanford attack that hit .292 this season, a percentage good for second in the Conference and seventh in the country.

LIBERO OF THE YEAR - Elena Oglivie, L, Stanford (Honolulu, Hawaii)

Elena Oglivie was voted the 2022 Pac-12 Libero of the Year, joining three-time honoree Morgan Hentz as the only other Cardinal to earn the award since its inception in 2011. The junior led the Cardinal with 444 digs, averaging a Conference-best 4.35 per set, and was a three-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week award winner this season on Sept. 19,  Nov. 14 and Nov. 21. Oglivie will lead the Stanford defense as the Cardinal host Pepperdine for a NCAA Tournament first round match on Friday, Dec. 2 in Maples Pavilion.

COACH OF THE YEAR - Kevin Hambly, Stanford

Stanford’s ninth Pac-12 Coach of the Year award overall is the second for Kevin Hambly, who was also recognized by his peers in 2018. He has guided the Cardinal to a 24-4 record and a 19-1 mark in Conference play this season as Stanford captured a fourth Pac-12 title under his direction and the first since 2019. Riding an 18-match winning streak, Stanford earned the No. 4 overall national seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament and will host first and second round matches this weekend in Palo Alto as the top seed in its quarter of the bracket. Hambly has led the Cardinal to the postseason in five of his six seasons with the appearances in 2018 and 2019 resulting in back-to-back national titles.

ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

Below is the 18-member All-Pac-12 team and seven-member Pac-12 All-Freshman team, also voted on by the league’s 12 head coaches. Head coaches were not allowed to vote for their own player or themselves. Players must appear in two-thirds of their institution’s Conference matches to be eligible for Pac-12 postseason awards. Six Pac-12 teams are headed to the NCAA Tournament, which begins this week, the 22nd time in the past 23 seasons the Conference has sent at least that many programs to the postseason.
