QUICK HITS
- In the 65-44 win over Montana:
- The Bears were led by Kemery Martín who had a game-high 18 points, which included a season four 3-pointers and a career and team-high eight rebounds.
- Jayda Curry became the second fastest player in program history to reach the 500-point milestone doing so in 29 games, behind former Bear and WNBA first-round draft pick Kristine Anigwe, who did it in 25 games.
- Cal held Montana to just three points in the third quarter. The three points were the lowest the Bears held an opponent to in a quarter since they held Cal State LA to four points in the first quarter on Feb. 16, 2022 and is tied for the fewest allowed in a quarter for any Pac-12 team this season.
- The Grizzlies didn't register their second field goal until the 1:36 mark in the first quarter.
- With two 3-pointers against Montana, Curry kept her streak of consecutive regular season games with at least one 3-pointer going at 28 games. Her streak is the longest among all active Pac-12 players and is the sixth longest streak of any Pac-12 player since the 1999-00 season.
- Evelien Lutje Schipholt has been a steady rock for the team so far as one of the team leaders in rebounding at 5.5 boards per game and ranking third in scoring at 10.8 points per game, which is a career-high and the first season she is averaging double-digit scoring. 14 of her 33 rebounds this season have come on the offensive end which ranks 16th in the Pac-12.
- Martín had a monster weekend at the LMU Thanksgiving Classic. She averaged 17.0 ppg on 60 percent shooting and had seven 3-pointers on 50 percent shooting, while averaging seven rebounds. She has now had at least three 3-pointers in three of the past four games.
- The Bears' bench has been a solid contributing factor this season accounting for 34.6 percent of the team's scoring to date. Cal's bench has outscored its opponents in all but one game this season.
- Cal's offense is coming from multiple sources this season with three Bears averaging double-figure scoring: Curry - 13.0, Martín - 11.2, Lutje Schipholt - 10.8. This is a marked improvement over last season when Curry was the lone Bear to average double-figures.
- Curry is currently on the Naismith Trophy Women's Watch List which represents the top 50 players in the country.
