Avrit Named Pac-12 Golfer of the Month
EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Owen Avrit was named Pac-12 Men's Golfer of the Month for November following his medalist finish at the Cal Poly Invitational.
Avrit finished at 10-under 206 to share medalist honors with Adam Wallin of Ohio State.
In his best showing as a Duck, Avrit had rounds of 70-66-70 on the par-72, 7,034-yard Preserve Golf Club. He led Oregon to a sixth-place finish. His second-round 66 matched the low-round of the event, while he led the 72-player field in par-4 scoring (-7) and was third in the tournament with 15 birdies.
It marked Avrit's third top-8 finish in four tournaments this fall.
Avrit is just the second Duck to be named Pac-12 Golfer of the month since 2017. Tom Gueant earned the honor for March of 2021; prior to that it was Wyndham Clark in April of 2017.
The win was Avrit's second as a collegian. The other came at the 2019 Husky Classic when he was a freshman at Long Beach State.
No. 26 Oregon's 2022-23 season will resume Jan. 30 at the Southwestern Invitational in Westlake Village, Calif.
