FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The Stanford Cardinal captured its second straight and 25th overall Pac-12 Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship, finishing the event Saturday with a grand total of 1725.5 points. 

Earning 11 first-place finishes and 19 overall podium finishes at the 2023 Championships, the Cardinal saw their most combined points since 2019.  

The win was highlighted by Olympian Torri Huske, who won all seven events she competed in as she contributed 192 individual points and 256 relay points.

USC, with 1267.5 points, came in second with 11 overall podium finishes followed by California in third with 1260.5 points. 

The Trojans entered the final day of competition trailing the Bears and used a big night in the pool and on the diving platform jump ahead into the runner-up spot, their highest finish since finishing first in 2016.

1650 Freestyle

• Stanford’s Aurora Roghair took first in the 1650 Free, swimming the mile-long race with a time of 16:02.28, beating out her competition by over 10 seconds.  
• An All-American in the event, Roghair earned her highest podium finish in the event, narrowly missing her personal best of 16:01.55.  
• USC’s Marlene Kahler finished in the runner-up position, swimming a season-best 16:15.12 with Arizona State freshman Katherine Randall earning her first career Championship podium finish in third (16:17.15)

200 Backstroke

• Earning her third first-place finish and fourth overall podium finish of the Championship, Claire Curzan set a new Pac-12 Championship record in the 200 Backstroke, recording a time of 1:47.43.
• Topping Kathleen Baker’s 2018 Pac-12 Championship record (1:48.27), Curzan set a new season high in the NCAA, taking over the record she set earlier in the regular season. 
• Cal’s Isabelle Stadden swam a new personal best, taking second with a time of 1:48.75. The feat put her third in program history in the event, with the junior now holding two Cal records.
• Golden Bear Annika McEnroe earned the first top-three Pac-12 Championship finish of her career, taking third with a personal-best time of 1:52.61.

100 Freestyle

• Stanford’s Huske became the back-to-back Pac-12 Champion in the 100 Free, earning her third individual win of the 2023 Championship.
• With her first-place time of 47.18, Huske is now 13-for-13 in the Pac-12 Championships, winning every event she has competed in. 
• UCLA’s Rachel Rhee swam a personal-best 48.00 even, earning her first Pac-12 Championship podium finish.
• Freshman Kayla Wilson finished third alongside her opponent with a time of 48.21, earning her third podium finish of the season.

200 Breaststroke

• USC’s Kaitlyn Dobler saw her first Pac-12 Championship title in the 200 Breastroke event, swimming a time of 2:05.66, mere milliseconds away from breaking her personal record. 
• Isabelle Odgers, the 2022 Pac-12 Champion in the 200 Breast, saw a second-place finish in the event behind her Trojan teammate, swimming a 2:06.66. 
• In Washington State’s only podium finish of the Championships, freshman Emily Lundgren pulled out a third-place finish, swimming a 2:08.33. The finish was the first in her college career and a personal best in the event. 

200 Butterfly

• Arizona State walked away with two wins in the 2023 Pac-12 Championships, thanks to senior Lindsay Looney, who picked up her second win in the 200 Fly.
• Her 1:52.58 was a personal best, earning her the top spot in the Sun Devil record book, where she now holds all top-10 times in the event. 
• Freshman Charlotte Hook saw her first career podium finish in the Championships, taking second with a time of 1:52.90.
• Finishing off the event was Rachel Klinker. The Golden Bear finished third with a time of 1:53.57. 

400-Free Relay 

• Claiming four of five relay wins, Stanford came through with a first-place finish in the 400-Free Relay to wrap up the final day of the 2023 Championships.
• Taylor Ruck, Kayla Wilson, Torri Huske, and Claire Curzan earned the Cardinal’s final win of the Championship, solidifying their Pac-12 title.
• Cal and Southern California were neck and neck finishing second and third respectively with times of 3:13.83 and 3:14.12.  

Women’s Platform 

• After back-to-back second-place finishes in the Pac-12 Platform event, USC's Nike Agunbiade took first in this year’s event with a final score of 333.10.
• Agunbiade’s win marks USC’s first Platform win since 2015 and their sixth overall in program history. 
• 2021 and 2022 Platform Champion, Delaney Schnell, took second place, missing a sweep of the 2023 diving events by only eight points (325.05) to earn her third career podium finish in the event. 
• UCLA freshman Eden Cheng claimed the third spot with a score of 324.60.

Divers of the Meet

• USC’s Laurent Gosselin-Paradis earned Men’s Diver of the Meet after claiming two Pac-12 Championship titles in the Men’s 1-meter and 3-meter and a runner-up finish in the Men’s Platform. 
• Arizona’s Schnell earned herself Women’s Diver of the Meet after becoming the first female diver to earn three consecutive 1-meter wins since 2012 and the only Arizona Diver to win the event. Later in the competition Schnell picked up her first Pac-12 career win in the women’s 3-meter and Saturday's runner-up finish in the women’s Platform. 

Women’s Swimmer of the Meet

• Stanford’s Torri Huske left the 2023 Pac-12 Championships with a perfect 13-for-13 record and the title of Women’s Swimmer of the Meet. Competing in three individual events and four relays, the Cardinal set new Pac-12 Championship records in the 100 Fly, multiple season bests and multiple personal bests.
