MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dzianis Zharyn, So., Washington (Gomel, Belarus)

  • Zharyn helped lead the Huskies to a pair of wins last week, including the team's first conference win of the season and ranked victory over No. 31 Utah, snapping the Utes' 14-match win streak.  
  • Against Utah, the sophomore defeated No. 85 Franco Capalbo, going on to upset the Utes' 26th-ranked Trhac/Bugarikj with partner Cesar Bouchelaghem, gaining pivotal doubles points. 
  • In their non-conference finale, Zharyn picked up two 6-0 singles set wins to earn a point towards the Huskies' 5-2 final score.
  • First Pac-12 Men’s Tennis Player of the Week award.

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Alexandra Yepifanova, So., Stanford (Hollywood, Fla.)

  • Yepifanova was a key player in the Cardinal’s 2-0 weekend against USC and UCLA, picking up two singles wins. 
  • The sophomore clinched Stanford’s win over USC with a 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-3 singles win over No. 35 Eryn Cayetano.
  • Against UCLA, she increased her singles record to 24-5 after taking down No. 87 Ava Catanzarite, 6-2, 6-4.
  • Second Pac-12 Women’s Tennis Player of the Week award.
