Beavs Advance to Regional Final with 197.375

DENVER – The Oregon State gymnastics team shined on floor and beam to propel the Beavs into the Regional Final with a 197.375 to tie for first in the session on Friday afternoon at Magness Arena.

The Regional Final is the first for the Gym Beavs since OSU last went to Nationals back in 2019, as the Beavs tied LSU, while defeating No. 19 Georgia (197.000) and No. 23 Nebraska (195.525) to advance. The 197.375 marks the second-highest regional total in program history.

"We knew this meet was going to come down to the final rotation," head coach Tanya Chaplin said. "All season long this team has showed so much heart and fight. I was proud of the way we stayed in our bubble and got this done as a team."

The Beavs picked up a trio of session wins with sophomore Jade Carey capturing the highest score on floor behind a 9.975 and beam with a 9.950, while senior Madi Dagen stuck her Yurchenko 1.5 on vault for a 9.900, earning the highest score of the afternoon on the apparatus.

OSU made a statement on the first rotation, recording the highest score of all four teams on any apparatus with a 49.550 to kickstart the meet. The Beavs have gone 49.500 or higher in three-straight meets and seven times this season on floor.

Highlighted by Dagen's stick in the five-spot, the Beavs finished vault with a 49.250, tying the 49.250 of LSU for the highest score on the apparatus in the session.

Returning to her home state, sophomore Carley Beeman was one of four Beavs to score a 9.800 or higher on bars. Led by Carey's 11th-straight score of 9.900 or higher on the event, OSU recorded a 49.125 to hold in second place going into the last rotation.

Closing with their strongest event all season, OSU went over the 49.400 mark for the ninth-straight meet, clinching their spot in Sunday's regional final with a 49.450 on beam.

The Beavs will compete again on Sunday afternoon, with the Denver Regional Final set for 4 p.m. PT. Oregon State will take on LSU and the top two scores of the evening session between Michigan, Denver, Minnesota and Arizona with the meet broadcast on ESPN+ ($).
