Amari Avery Ties For 29th At Augusta National Women's Amateur

Sophomore Amari Avery wrapped her third appearance at the Augusta National Women's Amateur — and her second final appearance — in 29th on Saturday (April 1) at Augusta National.

Avery finished her second career competitive round at Augusta at 6-over to finish at 8-over 224 (75-71-78). She went out in the final round at 4-over on the back 9 start, with a birdie on 17, and came in at 2-over with a final birdie on 8.

Rose Zhang won on the second playoff hole, edging Jenny Bae, after the duo finished tied at 9-under.

Avery tied for fourth in 2022 in her second appearance, finishing two back. She missed the cut in her debut appearance in 2021.
