Huskies Add JuCo Transfer Haley Winckler

Jun 6, 2023

SEATTLE – Washington softball head coach Heather Tarr has announced the addition of catcher Haley Winckler.

Winckler, a native of Snohomish, played the past two seasons at Bellevue College. This past year Winckler was awarded the NWAC Rawlings Gold Glove at catcher after posting a perfect fielding percentage in 172 chances.

"We are excited to add Haley to our program," Tarr said. "She brings a lot of experience coming from the junior college level in addition to a left-handed bat and her ability to catch will bring a depth to our roster."

At the NWAC Championship, Winckler went 3-for-4 with four RBI in the opening round game and helped the Bulldogs to a 41-4 overall record. On the season, she held a .389 batting average with two home runs, 14 doubles and 32 RBI. Winckler also swiped seven bases. Winckler was named to the First Team All-North Region.

Prior to Bellevue, Winckler played high school ball at Glacier Peak and travel ball with Washington Ladyhawks.

Winckler joins four freshman that have already been announced as part of the 2023 signing class, Giselle Alvarez, Jing Gardner, Jadyn Glab and Sidne Peters.
