Pac-12 Conference appoints veteran finance executive Morane Kerek as Chief Financial Officer

SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 Conference announced today that highly-respected sports industry executive Morane Kerek has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Conference. Kerek most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC). Kerek will report directly to Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff and commence her new role on August 9, 2023.

In her role as Pac-12 CFO, Kerek will be responsible for driving the overall strategic financial vision for the Pac-12, including establishing the internal infrastructure to connect financial performance to the overall strategic plan and the Pac-12 mission. Kerek’s remit will encompass development of financial strategies and goals; supporting and managing strategic revenue growth initiatives; evaluating new business models and enhancing operating results; oversight of all accounting, budget planning and forecasting; risk management; and ensuring best-in-class standards in financial control, audit practices and financial reporting.
 
Prior to the Pac-12, Kerek held a number of senior financial roles at the USOPC over a period of 17 years, including as Chief Financial Officer since 2016 which followed roles as Managing Director of Audit and Controller. As CFO at the USOPC, Kerek is credited with helping to ensure the long-term financial stability of the organization, including through establishing leading business practices and strong collaboration across constituents. In that role she oversaw management and supervision of the organization’s financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting and forecasting, cash management and risk management, and audits. Among her many accomplishments included playing a key role in negotiations with LA28 to determine the commercial revenue joint venture financial structure and collaboration of fundraising rights through 2028.
 
Kerek previously served as Vice President of Finance for sports, entertainment, and media at IMG, where she oversaw budgeting, forecasting and new business evaluations for the tennis division. In addition to the tennis division’s financial oversight, Kerek also contributed to the financial goals of various divisions at IMG during her tenure, including the consulting division, soccer division and IMG Media (formerly TWI) – the sport television production arm of IMG. Kerek began her career at the Chicago office of Ernst & Young, LLC.
 
Kerek is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. She is a former recipient of the Sports Business Journal Game Changers Award which recognizes women in the sports industry for their leadership, innovation, accomplishments, and impact.
