Pac-12 announces 2023 Women's Volleyball Preseason All-Conference Team
The Pac-12 revealed the 2023 Women's Volleyball All-Conference Team today, as voted on by the league's 12 head coaches.
Defending champion and 2023 preseason favorite Stanford leads the way with six selections. Three of those honorees are returning Pac-12 individual award winners from last year with reigning Pac-12 Player of the Year Kendall Kipp, Setter of the Year Kami Miner and Libero of the Year Elena Oglivie all back to help the Cardinal try to repeat as Pac-12 Champions in 2023 and make a run at a national championship. Three-time All-Pac-12 performer Caitie Baird, 2022 All-Pac-12 freshman standout Elia Rubin and 2021 All-Freshman Team honoree Sami Francis were also voted preseason all-conference for the upcoming campaign.
Washington State, which garnered its highest preseason coaches poll ranking since 1996, saw three Cougars appear on the list. Three-time AVCA All-American Magda Jehlarova is back for a fifth year and will team up with three-time All-Pac-12 selection Pia Timmer to lead WSU in 2023. Arizona State transfer Iman Isanovic, an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention selection last season, is a welcome addition to a Cougar squad that is poised for a strong year.
Oregon and USC collected two selections apiece, while Arizona State and UCLA each had one earn the nod.
2022 AVCA National Freshman of the Year and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Mimi Colyer will be a force for the Ducks this fall, while three-time All-Pac-12 setter Hannah Pukis is coming off an outstanding first season in Eugene after transferring in prior to last season.
USC's Skylar Fields, a former transfer from Texas, returns for the Trojans after leading the Pac-12 in kills, attacks and kills average a year ago en route to AVCA All-American First Team honors. Junior Mia Tuaniga, a 2022 All-Pac-12 honoree and a 2021 All-Freshman Team selection, also earned a preseason team nod for the Trojans.
Arizona State's Marta Levinska, an all-conference honorable selection last year, and UCLA's Anna Dodson, a two-time All-Pac-12 honoree, round out the 15-member preseason team for 2023.
The regular season begins on Friday, Aug. 25, with all 12 Conference teams in action. The league's teams will be featured 97 times this season across Pac-12 Networks and Pac-12 Insider, which is available on Pac-12.com and the Pac-12 Now app, as well as eight partner platforms, including Local Now, Redbox, Samsung TV Plus, Sling, Sportstribal, The Roku Channel, Vizio and Xumo.
