The Pac-12 Conference announced the 2024 Pac-12 Women's Gymnastics All-Conference honors and Annual Awards, presented by Gatorade, on Tuesday morning. After being named the 2023 Freshman of the Year, UCLA’s Selena Harris was voted this season’s Gymnast of the Year while 5th year Cardinal Chloe Widner earned her first postseason honor in the form of Specialist of the Year. Oregon State’s Sophia Esposito was named the Freshman of the Year and coaching duo Justin Howell and Elisabeth Crandall-Howell were named Coaches of the Year for the second time in their careers. The individual award recipients are voted on by the league's head coaches.

Gymnast of the Year: Selena Harris, So., UCLA (Las Vegas, Nev.)
After being named the 2023 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year after last season’s performance, UCLA Sophomore Selena Harris has been named the 2024 Gymnast of the Year, after hitting all 44 of her routines this season and picking up three Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week honors. In just her second season as a Bruin, Harris led the conference in perfect 10s, with one on bars and three on vault, for the most in the nation in the latter event. The sophomore scored a 39.5 or higher in the all-around nine times this season, including her Pac-12 Championship victory that tied for the highest-ever, trumping a 21-year record (39.825; Kate Richardson). Harris also picked up Pac-12 individual event wins on vault and bars, helping the Bruins to a second place team finish. In March, she recorded the second-highest score in Bruin history in the all-around with a 39.9 against Clemson. Leading the Bruins with 28 event victories, 38 Top-3 finishes, and 30 scores of 9.9 or higher, Harris has helped her team to 2024 NCAA Regionals where they will compete for their 25th Regional title. Heading into regionals she holds the conference’s only No. 1 spot in the Road to Nationals NQS rankings (vault; 9.965) and is No. 5 in the country in the all-around.

Specialist of the Year: Chloe Widner, 5th, STANFORD (Frisco, Texas)
In her first ever Pac-12 annual award, 5th year Cardinal Chloe Widner has been named Pac-12 Specialist of the Year. The 2023-24 Team Captain scored a 9.90 or higher 17 times in her specialties this season (5 - bars; 6 - beam; 6 - floor), including becoming the first Cardinal to score a Perfect 10 since April 2018, and the first to achieve the feat on beam since February 2004. Despite fighting an ankle injury, Widner completed the regular season as one of only five Pac-12 Gymnasts to rank in the top-10 in the Conference's NQS in three or more events (Bars, Beam & Floor). On March 10th, in her final appearance at Maples Pavilion, Widner’s Perfect 10 and career-best 9.975 on floor, contributed to the Cardinals’ best home score since 2004 (197.975). At the Pac-12 Championships, the 5th year took home her first career top-3 finish after scoring a second place 9.950 on the beam, helping her team to a 4th place overall finish and becoming one of just two session-one athletes to take home a top-3 finish.

Freshman of the Year: Sophia Esposito, OREGON STATE (Melville, N.Y.)
After her first season as an Oregon State Beaver, Sophia Esposito has been named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. Esposito spent her opening season excelling in the gym, successfully executing 39 out of 42 total routines, giving her an NQS that ranks 11th in the Conference in the all-around (39.355). After the conclusion of the Pac-12 Championships, she leads the conference’s freshmen on vault with an NQS that is among the top-33 nationally (9.895), scoring a 9.85 or higher nine times. On beam and floor, Esposito ranks second among Pac-12 freshmen, with her floor ranking sitting just inside the Conference’s top-20 (9.900) thanks to five different 9.9’s or higher including a career-high 9.95. Esposito has competed in the all-around in each of her last seven meets, scoring a career-high 39.525 against UCLA and tying for fifth at the Pac-12 Championships. This season she has earned six event titles and three Freshman/Newcomer of the Week awards.

Coaches of the Year: Justin Howell & Elisabeth Crandall-Howell, CALIFORNIA
After joining Justin Howell at the helm of the Golden Bears in 2018, California’s coaching duo Justin Howell and Elisabeth Crandall-Howell have earned their second Coaches of the Year award. After being picked to finish third in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the husband-wife duo led the Golden Bears to their first outright regular season Championship title after spending all but one week in the Road to Nationals top-3, including seven weeks in the runner-up spot. The Bears were perfect in their Conference meets (7-0) and only fell to three opponents during the entirety of the regular season (18-3), earning their highest team score (198.550) and highest individual all-around mark (eMjae Frazier, 39.825) in the process. Heading into the NCAA postseason with their highest NCAA Regional seed (No. 3), Cal is one of just three teams in the country with an NQS of 198 or higher (198.180). On January 27th, Crandall-Howell notched her 100th career victory with the Bears, picking up 10 more wins by the end of the season (110-41-2). The two were named the 2022-23 WCGA Co-Head Coaches of the Year and this is Justin Howell’s (222-128-2) fourth time receiving the award (2013, 2016, 2021).
