Bryana Pizarro Represents Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico Washington State fifth-year senior Bryana Pizarro was selected for the Puerto Rican Women's Senior National Team for a pair of friendlies against the Cayman Islands. This is not Pizarro's first call up for the national team, previously competing in CONCACAF Gold Cup preliminary matches.

Coming out of Valley Stream, N.Y., Pizarro helped Puerto Rico's U-20 team earn a spot in the 2022 CONCACAF Championship as well as participating in many other matches in her time with the team.

Puerto Rico faced the Cayman Islands on April 3 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and will play them again in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Saturday, April 6. Pizarro started for the territory in Wednesday's match, played

On Wednesday, Puerto Rico struck early with three goals in three minutes and added one more in added time at the end of the first half to make it 4-0 going into halftime. The gates broke open in the second half and Puerto Rico added eight more goals to end the game with a 12-0 victory over Cayman Islands.

Pizarro will look to make an impact on the Cougar team again next season after playing in 12 games, starting 11 of those, last fall.
