Three Huskies were voted to the All-Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Team as the conference honors were announced today.

UCLA junior Nicole McNamara was voted Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Player of the Year and is part of the duo that was voted Pac-12 Pair of the Year with her twin sister Megan McNamara, the Conference office announced today. USC’s Tina Graudina was voted the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year while UCLA’s Stein Metzger was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year for the second-straight year.

Another thriller for the Husky Beach Volleyball team went down to the wire at the Pac-12 Championships, but the Dawgs came up just short of another upset as their season came to a close with a 3-2 defeat to 12th-ranked California.

No. 1-ranked and top-seeded UCLA defeated USC to claim the Bruins’ first-ever Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championship crown on Saturday afternoon at the Stanford Beach Volleyball Stadium. The Bruins did not drop a dual in the three-day event, extending their program-record win streak to 30 in a row.

For the third time in the three years of the Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championships, Washington is one of the last four teams in the hunt heading into the final day of the tournament, and got there with an exciting upset.

Washington came up just short by a point here or there in its opening Pac-12 Championship match against third-seeded and 12th-ranked California.
