Arizona kicker Casey Skowron runs for a touchdown off fake field goal
From women's soccer team manager, to walk-on, to starting kicker, it has been an interesting path for Arizona kicker Casey Skowron. His latest path led him to the end zone in a 27-26 Arizona win on Saturday against Washington.
Skowron took a high snap on a fake field goal call for an 18-yard touchdown rush.
It wasn't Skowron's most important play on the day. He also knocked in the game-winning field goal as the Wildcats took the victory out of the Huskies' paws in the final seconds.
But the fake field goal late in the first half caught Washington’s defense off guard enough to where Skowron was easily able to pick up the yardage on Arizona's 4th-and-4, but then he got more than a first down as he outraced Washington defenders to the corner of the end zone, which cut Washington’s lead to 17-14.
