Nelson Spruce resets his Colorado reception record
Nelson Spruce set a Colorado single-game record with 13 receptions last week against Hawai'i, but the book was rewritten Saturday afternoon against Cal.
Spruce tied a Pac-12 record with 19 receptions that led to 176 yards and three touchdowns. He bested his previous single-game reception record while setting career highs in receiving yards and touchdown catches in a single game. Despite the 59-56 loss for the Buffs, Spruce built on his impressive season and currently leads the nation with 10 touchdown catches.
The Colorado wideout is on pace to break the single-season record of 11 touchdown catches for Colorado, and he now has multiple touchdown catches and more than 100 receiving yards in four of the Buffaloes' first five games. His third touchdown catch, seen above, might have been his most impressive yet.
