Katinka Hosszu Wins Third Gold Of World Championships

Russian star and Trojan great Vladimir Morozov claimed one of the glamour races at the 2018 FINA World Championships on Friday (Dec. 14), holding off American star Caleb Dressel to win the 50m free while his former teammate Katinka Hosszu won her third gold, capturing the 100m IM.

Just two days into the 2018 FINA World Championships in Hangzhou, China, and the Trojans have already amassed an impressive medal count, led by Hungary's Katinka Hosszu with two golds and a silver, a pair of relay medals for Russia's Vladimir Morozov and another relay medal for American Kendyl Stewart.

Don Lamont, Former USC Women's Coach, Died At 82

Former USC Swimming Coach Don LaMont, who guided the Trojan women's team for 10 years following a highly successful club coaching career and prior to a long stint of service for the university, died last week, months after suffering a severe stroke. He was 82.

Trojan Greats Set For FINA World Championships

USC Coach Dave Salo will serve as the American men's head coach and will be joined by a host of former Trojan greats – All-Americans, Olympians and NCAA champions including Katinka Hosszu, Haley Anderson and Vladimir Morozov – as they represent their respective countries beginning Tuesday morning in Hangzhou, China (Monday afternoon local time) at the 2018 FINA World Championships (25m).
