Ten Huskies Earn Medals At Under 23 World Championships

Ten Washington rowers earned medals Sunday on the final day of the World Rowing Under 23 Championships at Nathan Benderson Park. The UW contingent, 25 athletes in all, was led by a pair of gold medalists: Dimitra Tsamopoulou (Greece) in the women's double sculls and Harvey Kay (Great Britain) in the men's eight. Another eight individuals earned silver or bronze.

Eight Huskies Compete In Finals At World Under 23s

Eight UW athletes saw their World Rowing Under 23 Championships regatta come to an end with finals races Saturday at Nathan Benderson Park. Four Huskies raced in A finals (top six) while four more competed in B finals. Another 17 will row in finals on the last day of the championships tomorrow.

It was a busy day of action for UW athletes at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships Thursday at Nathan Benderson Park, as a five-hour rain delay in the middle of the day's schedule made for a long day for the 21 Huskies who competed.
