Player of the Week: Rachel Garcia, R-Sr., P/1B, UCLA (Palmdale, Calif.)

  • Spearheaded UCLA’s six-win week, which featured a pair of victories at Long Beach State and a four-game sweep over Stanford. 
  • Reached base in 13 of 21 plate appearances, highlighted by a go-ahead home run against the Cardinal in game three of the series. 
  • Drew seven walks, knocked in six runs and recorded two extra base hits at the plate.  
  • Earned four wins, including three complete games, while striking out 22 hitters across 25.0 innings in the circle. 
  • Second Pac-12 Player of the Week honor in 2021 (three-time Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week). 

Pitcher of the Week: Brooke Yanez, Jr., P, OREGON (Ventura, Calif.)

  • Surrendered just one run across 18.2 innings against Arizona, the Pac-12’s top-hitting team entering the weekend. 
  • Earned back-to-back complete game wins in the series’ first two contests, highlighted by 20 punchouts and just six hits allowed. 
  • Pitched a shutout in game two, her fifth of the season, becoming the first Oregon pitcher since May 2018 to throw a shutout with double-digit strikeouts and no walks. 
  • Finished the weekend with 4.2 shutout innings in the series finale, adding four more strikeouts to her total. 
  • Second Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week honor in 2021. 

Freshman of the Week: Kelley Lynch, R-Fr., P/1B, WASHINGTON (Newnan, Ga.) 

  • Led Washington to a four-game sweep over Utah, recording at least one hit in each contest. 
  • Reached base in six of 13 plate appearances, including two doubles and a three-run home run. 
  • Finished the weekend with seven RBI and a .833 slugging percentage. 
  • Extended a streak of 24 consecutive games without committing an error in the field. 
  • Fourth career Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honor.
