Men's Golfers Finish 12th At ASU Thunderbird Invitational

               PHOENIX — The University of Colorado men's golf team did not have the final round it was looking to achieve here Saturday, slipping one spot into a 12th place finish in Arizona State's Thunderbird Invitational.   No. 2 and host Arizona State led from start to finish, posting a 20-under par team score of 832, which easily outdistanced No. 7 Texas by 12 shots, as the Longhorns ended at 8-under 844.  No. 32 UCLA moved from fifth to third with a 7-under 845, leapfrogging top-ranked Oklahoma State in the process; the Cowboys took fourth with a 2-under 850.  No. 23 North Carolina State rounded out the top five with an even-par 852 total.

Golfers In 11th At ASU Thunderbird Invitational

                PHOENIX — The University of Colorado men's golf team, in its final tune-up ahead of the Pac-12 Championships, are in 11th place after two rounds of the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational, both of which were completed here Friday.  

CU Athletics Honors Its Academic Best

BOULDER — Over three dozen University of Colorado student-athletes, including a record 27 with perfect 4.00 grade point averages last year, were honored for a variety of outstanding academic accomplishments Thursday morning at the school's 27th Annual Student-Athlete Academic Recognition Banquet.

Golfers Finish 14th In Stanford's "The Goodwin"

PALO ALTO, Calif. — The University of Colorado men's golf team finished 14th here Saturday in the 50th edition of Stanford's "The Goodwin," but in the end, it was the proverbial, "what a difference a stroke or two meant."   Host and No. 31 Stanford wound up pulling away from the field, finishing as the only team under par with an 8-under score of 832.  The Cardinal entered the final round with a seven-shot lead and would win by 18, as No. 6 Southern California finished a distant second with a 10-over total of 850.  No. 4 Oklahoma (854), No. 11 Cal (855) and first round leader, No. 80 Washington (857) rounded out the top five.
