A quartet of former USC men's and women's volleyball greats brought home gold medals for the United States in the 4x4 beach volleyball competition today (Oct. 16) at the ANOC World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar.
In addition to the always-challenging 12-match slate against Mountain Pacific Sports Federation opponents, the Trojans will play 13 non-conference opponents, including at 2-time defending NCAA champion Long Beach State on Feb. 1.

Oz Simmons, a member of USC's first NCAA champion men's volleyball team and then a longtime high school coach in Orange County, died on Sunday (Sept. 1) in Dana Point, Calif., of cancer. He was 62.
