Julie Foudy named Pac-12 Womens Soccer Player of the Century, Stanford Head Coach Paul Ratcliffe chosen as Pac-12 Womens Soccer Coach of the Century
SAN FRANCISCO (October 6, 2015)
Filled with Olympians, World Cup titles and All-Americans, Pac-12 Networks revealed the Pac-12 All-Century Womens Soccer roster on Pac-12 Sports Report Monday night.
Twenty-four players (seven forwards, six midfielders, four goalies) were chosen from a field of 63 players nominated by Pac-12 institutions.
Voting was conducted by a panel of 37, comprised of former and current coaches, former players and members of the media. Notable voting participants include

The Stanford Cardinal leads the pack with eight selections, followed by UCLA (7), California (4), Arizona State (2), Washington (2) and USC (1).

Julie Foudy
was named the Pac-12 Womens Soccer Player of the Century. Chosen as the 1991 Soccer America Player of the Year, Foudy is a three-time NSCAA first-team All-American. She graduated with school career records in points (137), goals (52), and assists (33). Foudy also had three hat tricks, including a school-record eight-point game (3 goals, 2 assists). Foudy was inducted into the Stanford Hall of Fame and National Soccer Hall of Fame. She went on to have one of the most successful international careers, earning 272 caps for the U.S. national team from 1988-2004. She won two World Cups and two Olympic gold medals, captaining the U.S. team to victory at the 2000 and 2004 Olympics and 1999 World Cup. She was also named
Sports Illustrateds
1999 Sportswoman of the Year.

Paul Ratcliffe
was also chosen as the Pac-12 Womens Soccer Coach of the Century. Ratcliffe is the most successful mens or womens coach in more than 100 years of Stanford soccer with a 223-47-24 record on The Farm. Currently in his 13th season as head coach, Ratcliffe has led the Stanford women to a NCAA Championship, reached three NCAA finals, won four Pac-12 titles, played in six NCAA Womens College Cups, and advanced to the NCAA third round the past nine seasons. Ratcliffe also holds a 33-10-3 record in NCAA playoff action. His Stanford teams have an ongoing streak of 25-consecutive NCAA Tournament matches without a loss at home. He is a five-time Pac-12 Coach of the Year and three-time NSCAA National Coach of the Year.
