CORVALLIS, Ore.
- The Oregon State University women's soccer team continues its road stretch of matches traveling to Connecticut to take on Yale on Sept. 3 at 4 p.m. (PT) in New Haven, CT, before meeting with Central Connecticut State on Sept. 5 at 9 a.m. (PT). It will be the first time that the Beavers will be meeting with both Yale and CCSU.
Last Time Out
Oregon State extended its win streak to four, earning wins over Idaho and New Mexico. On Aug. 27, the Beavers toppled Idaho with a 2-1 victory at Lorenz Field. Sophomore Amber Jackson scored in the 30th minute with an assist from juniors Maddie Tetz and Brianna McReynolds. In the 55th minute, freshman McKenna Martinez found the net with an unassisted goal.
For their first road match, the Beavers blanked New Mexico, 3-0, in Albuquerque, N.M. on Aug. 29. Jackson found the net first in the 13th minute with an assist from redshirt junior Helena Brown. The Beavers' second goal came from freshman Aidan Brown. Redshirt junior Madison Ellsworth capped scoring for the Beavers with a goal assisted by senior Laura Galceran in the 52nd minute.
Scouting Yale
Yale is 0-2-0 (0-0-0 Ivy League). The Bulldogs fell to Buffalo, 3-2, on Aug. 27 and Quinnipiac, 4-0, on Aug. 29.
Yale's two goals against Buffalo were scored by first-year Ellie Rappole. Senior Reina Bonta and first-year Alanna Butcher have one assist each on the season. In goal, first-year Annie Welch has clocked 184:06 minutes and tallied twelve saves.
Due to the COVID19 pandemic, the Ivy League canceled competition for the 2020-21 academic year.
Scouting Central Connecticut State
Central Connecticut State is 2-1-0 (0-0-0 Northeast). Opening the season with a 2-1 loss to UConn on Aug. 21, the Blue Devils returned to the pitch to post back-to-back 2-1 victories over UAlbany within regulation (Aug. 26) and New Hampshire in overtime (Aug. 29).
Junior Roma McLaughlin leads the Blue Devils with two goals on the season. Senior Erica Bardes leads the team in assists with three. In goal, junior Amanda McQuillan has clocked 180 minutes and ten saves.
Last season the Blue Devils went 7-1 (6-0 Northeast), their only loss coming at the hands of South Florida in the first round of the NCAA Women's College Cup on April 27. Central Connecticut State shutout its opponents in six of seven of their regular season matches, only allowing one goal during the regular season.
