Chayse Gomez carded a 2-under 70 to help the Oregon State women's golf team move three spots up the leaderboard at the Silverado Showdown on Tuesday.
The Beavers posted a 7-over 295 in the second round, after opening the tournament with a 10-over 298, and moved from 13th place to 10th with a 17-over 593 at the par-72, 6,146-yard Silverado Resort and Spa.
The final round of the three-day, 54-hole tournaments begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday and live scoring is available at

Gomez, a fifth-year senior from Yorba Linda, Calif., had four birdies and only two bogeys on the day and jumped 36 spots up the board with a 1-over 75-70145. She has seven birdies through the first two rounds of the tourney.
She now has 10 sub-par scores this season, and 30 in her career, and has a chance for her sixth-career Top 10 finish after recording four of them last season.
Sophomore Kyra Ly and true freshman Raya Nakao have both played sensational golf the first two rounds and are tied for fifth place with an even-par 144. They are each only five strokes behind the clubhouse leaders with 18 holes to play.
Ly, a native of Portland, has been steady both rounds with a pair of 72's that have included four birdies and four bogeys. She has three career Top 10 finishes, all coming this season, with the best being a share of the individual title at the Meadow Club Invitational earlier this spring.
Nakao, a native of Kaneohe, Hawai'i, is enjoying a fabulous frosh season with eight sub-par scores and two Top 10 finishes. After opening the event with a 3-under 69, she shot a 3-over 75 in the second round. Her eight birdies in the first two rounds lead the team and are tied for the sixth most in the 88-player field.
True freshman Kelly Hope knocked four strokes off her first-round score and is tied for 81st place with a 16-over 82-78160.
USC leads the 16-team field with a 3-under 573, while Kajsa Arwefjall of San Jose State and Catherine Park of USC share the individual lead with a 5-under 139.
