By: Pac-12 Conference
Ceasar Garza, R-Jr., Cal Poly (Oakdale, Calif.)
For the first time this season, a Cal Poly grappler has been named Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week. Caesar Garza becomes the first Mustang to take home this honor since Koda Holeman in the middle of last season (Dec. 31, 2024).
Garza (6-0) posted a perfect 4-0 record en route to winning the 184-pound title at the Roadrunner Open on Sunday. Garcia used a single-leg takedown with a minute left in the third period to defeat the defending Pac-12 champion and 30th-ranked TJ McDonnell from Oregon State by an 8-6 decision in the 184-pound title match. At the tournament, he also earned a 17-2 technical fall over Cal Poly Humboldt's Sage Adie, a fall at 3:54 over Menlo's Joseph Estrada and an 11-6 decision over Stanford's Tye Monteiro.
ALSO NOMINATED: Maximo Renteria, Oregon State; Santino Sanchez, Cal State Bakersfield
