Nasir Bailey, So., Little Rock (Park Forest, Ill.)

Little Rock’s Nasir Bailey was named Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week, the Conference office announced Tuesday morning.

It’s the fourth Conference weekly honor of the season for Little Rock and second for Bailey, who previously secured the acclaim on Jan. 7 after going 5-0 at the Southern Scuffle to earn the 133-pound title. Bailey went 3-0 across Little Rock’s trio of dual meet victories against Cal Poly (Feb. 14), North Dakota State (Feb. 16), and Cal State Bakersfield (Feb. 16).

The sophomore notched winning decisions over No. 2 Zeth Romney of Cal Poly and Santino Sanchez of Cal State Bakersfield before closing out his weekend with a major-decision victory over No. 23 Kyle Burwick of North Dakota State.

Bailey’s performances ultimately helped the Trojans earn a 3-0 record against Pac-12 opponents in dual meets this season ahead of the Pac-12 Championships (March 6).

ALSO NOMINATED: Jake Andrews, Cal State Bakersfield

  • Andrews improved to 20-2 on the season with a 2-0 weekend across Bakersfield’s dual meets. The Bakersfield native secured a 5-4 decision over North Dakota State’s Drew Blackburn-Forst and picked up a 5-1 win over Little Rock’s KJ Miley. The Bakersfield native has run up a 14-match winning streak.

ALSO NOMINATED: Chance Lamer, Cal Poly

  • Lamer went 2-0 at 149 pounds across the Mustangs’ pair of dual meets this past weekend. The redshirt junior rolled to a 19-4 technical fall victory over Collin Arch of Cal State Bakersfield and went on to defeat Little Rock’s Jordan Williams by a 7-2 decision.
