No. 22 Utah State and Boise State (6-1-1 with 19 points apiece) both came out on top in their matches Thursday night, finishing as co-regular season Pac-12 champions. By virtue of Utah State's head-to-head win over the Broncos (1-0 on Oct. 11, in Boise), the Aggies clinched the top seed in the Pac-12 Women's Soccer Championship, which is set to take place in Logan, Utah, beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 11, with the semifinals. Boise State will be the two-seed, while San Diego State and Gonzaga round out the top-four.
Utah State knocked off the Aztecs 2-0 on Thursday night to clinch the top seed and a share of the regular season crown behind a pair of second half goals from Kate Christian and Kei Yoneda. Boise State clinched its share of the regular season title earlier in the evening with a 1-0 win at home over Washington State, thanks to a 77th-minute goal from Cindy Conner. Gonzaga seized the fourth and final spot in the championship with its 1-0 win on Thursday night at home over Oregon State behind goals from Samantha Snorsky and Amelia Severn. Gonzaga finished the regular season at 4-4, with 12 points, moving past an idle Colorado State (10 points) and staying just ahead of Texas State (11 points), who won 3-1 against Fresno State in the final Thursday night match.
The semifinal round is set for Wednesday, Nov. 11 from Chuck and Gloria Bell Field on the campus of Utah State in Logan Utah:
(2) Boise State vs. (3) San Diego State - 4 p.m. MT
(1) Utah State vs. (4) Gonzaga - 7:30 p.m. MT
Winners will move on to the final on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 5:30 p.m. MT, also from Chuck and Gloria Bell Field.
