The Pac-12 Conference today announced that its board of directors, composed of university presidents across its nine full-time members, formally extended the contract of Commissioner Teresa Gould to continue in her role through the 2030-31 season.
Gould began her tenure on March 1, 2024 as the first-ever female commissioner of an NCAA autonomy conference. In more than two years in the role, she has guided the league through a period of unprecedented transformation, including a comprehensive process to build a new Pac-12 upon the conference’s 110-year legacy.
“To be where we are today, weeks away from launching a new Pac-12 Conference with the strong institutions, brands and fan bases that are coming together, is nothing short of remarkable,” said Oregon State University President Jayathi Murthy, chair of the Pac-12 board of directors. “Such a feat requires a talented team with strong leadership, and we are thrilled to have both led by Teresa Gould as we move forward into our new era.”
In addition to building a new Pac-12, Gould has also overseen the evolution and launch of Pac-12 Enterprises, the addition of affiliate members to strengthen regional Olympic sports, the announcement of key commercial and tech partnerships, and the procurement of long-term media partnerships with CBS Sports, The CW and USA Sports. As part of the media partnerships, the league secured 100 percent national linear television coverage for its football and the vast majority of its men’s basketball slates, while also leveraging its industry-leading production resources. Additionally, for the upcoming 2026 season, the league introduced a first-of-its-kind innovation to its inaugural football schedule with a home-and-home flex matchup to end the regular season.
Gould added: “When I stepped into this role two years ago, some thought I was crazy to take this on facing so much uncertainty. What they saw as a challenge, I saw as an opportunity—to honor the Pac-12’s legacy while helping shape its future. As we prepare to officially launch the new Pac-12, I could not be more proud of what our membership and the Pac-12 team have accomplished together. This historic conference is entering an exciting new era, and I am honored by the Board’s continued trust as we build for the future. Most importantly, I look forward to providing the exceptional student-athlete experience the Pac-12 has been known for and will continue to be for generations to come.”
Boise State Director of Athletics Jeramiah Dickey added: “Our charge for Boise State athletics has always been a focus on What’s Next. With Teresa’s leadership and our collaboration across the new Pac-12, Bronco student-athletes, alums and fans can be excited for the future and What’s Next.”
Beginning July 1, 2026, the Pac-12 will welcome seven new full members to join Oregon State and Washington State, including Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, San Diego State, Texas State and Utah State.
