Pac-12 Commissioner Teresa Gould today announced the appointment of Drew Speraw as the league’s Vice President of Men’s Basketball, adding an experienced leader to the conference’s leadership team. Speraw will officially begin his role on July 31, 2026.
 
“With the strength and momentum of our men’s basketball programs, finding a strong leader to oversee administration and further elevate the Pac-12 was a top priority,” said Commissioner Gould. “Drew’s blend of executive experience at the league level and decade-long tenure leading administration at Kansas State brings an invaluable, well-rounded perspective to our leadership team.”
 
In his role, Speraw will be responsible for strategic leadership and administrative oversight for all aspects of Pac-12 men's basketball. He will serve as the primary liaison to member institutions, oversee championship administration and competitive policies, support student-athlete success, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the visibility, competitiveness and national stature of the conference's men's basketball brand.

Most recently, Speraw served as the Senior Vice President for UAC Basketball at Unisun Sports (formerly the Western Athletic Conference). He previously served as Senior Associate Commissioner for Basketball and Conference Services for the WAC.
 
While at the WAC, Speraw oversaw all sport administration and championships. He served as the primary administrator for both men’s and women’s basketball, managing all conference scheduling and operational functions, and was the tournament director for the annual WAC Basketball Tournament. 
 
During his time at the WAC, the conference continued its growth as one of the premier mid-major conferences in NCAA Division I, highlighted by a rise to No. 11 in the KenPom.com rankings of Division I men’s basketball conferences at the conclusion of the 2022–23 season. 
 
Before his time at the WAC, Speraw spent nearly 10 seasons on staff at Kansas State University under head coach Bruce Weber. During his tenure, the Wildcats captured Big 12 regular-season championships in 2013 and 2019 and made five NCAA Tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight run in 2017–18.
 
A former Division I student-athlete, Speraw played basketball at the University of Central Florida from 2005 to 2010. He later served as a graduate student manager and administrative assistant at the University of Iowa from 2010 to 2012.
 
Speraw earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in sport and fitness administration from UCF, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Iowa.
