The Pac-12 today announced its 2026-27 men’s basketball conference schedule, officially setting the stage for the first season of the league’s next era.
Each Pac-12 program will play a 16-game conference schedule, with the schedule designed to provide a balanced home-and-road experience throughout league play. No team will play three consecutive road games or four of five games on the road, while every program will begin and conclude conference play with one home and one road game across its first and final two contests.
Fan-First Approach to Pac-12 Men’s Basketball
With the return of Pac-12 men’s basketball, the conference is putting fans at the center of its approach to men’s basketball, delivering unprecedented access to games across a broad national television footprint through its partnerships with CBS Sports, CW Sports and USA Sports. Over 90% of Pac-12 men’s basketball games during conference play will be featured across national linear television networks, providing fans more opportunities to follow their teams heading into the league’s tournament in March.
The combination of national television exposure and a balanced conference schedule reflects the Pac-12’s commitment to making its games more accessible to fans while showcasing the league, its student-athletes and gameday atmospheres to audiences across the country.
Tipoff times and broadcast information for all games, including non-conference home contests, will be announced at a later date ahead of the start of the season.
Conference play is set to tip off on Sunday, Jan. 3, with the regular season continuing through Saturday, March 6. The season will culminate with the 2027 Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, from March 9-13.
Strength of Pac-12 Men’s Basketball
Over the last five seasons, the nine Pac-12 Men’s Basketball programs have collectively been one of the top leagues in the country, with several notable benchmarks including:
- Top 6 average in NET ranking (91.1), just behind the ACC (89.9) for 5th and well ahead of the next closest (Atlantic 10, 135.4). Closer to 1st (Big 12, 48.2) than 7th.
- Six of the Pac-12’s nine men’s basketball programs have a Top 100 average NET ranking in that span, the 5th-highest percentage (66.7%) of all conferences.
- Top 6 average in KenPom ranking (89.8), just behind the ACC (86.0) for 5th and well ahead of the next closest (Atlantic 10, 135.2). Closer to 1st (Big 12, 47.1) than 7th.
- Over the last six seasons, seven of the league's nine programs made at least one appearance in the NCAA Men's Tournament, tied for the fifth-highest percentage of members (77.8%) among all leagues.
- Over the last four seasons, the league has seen 16 total NCAA bids across six programs, tied for the fifth-most bids among all leagues (also, Big East).
In addition, and over the last six seasons dating back to the 2020-21 campaign, the new Pac-12 has seen multiple teams reach the National Championship game (2021 Gonzaga, 2023 San Diego State), as one of only three conferences with multiple men’s programs appearing in the title match since 2021 (also Big Ten & Big 12).
