The Pac-12 today announced its football weekly awards for the Week 1 of the 2026 season with three of the eight football playing schools earning awards, including a pair of winners from Colorado State's 35-13 win over Wyoming in Jim Mora's debut as the Rams head coach.

OFFENSE:  Hauss Hejny, 3rd year, QB, Colorado State (Aledo, Texas)
  • Set all new career highs as he completed 23-of-33 passes for 214 yards with 5 touchdowns in a 35-13 win over Wyoming
  • Added 39 yards rushing and additionally made an amazing catch for 28 yards on a flea-flicker for his 1st career reception.  It's Hejny's most rushing yards in a game since 2024 when he racked up 48 yards for TCU against Cincinnati
  • The 5 passing touchdowns matched a program record for most in a season-opening game for a Rams signal caller (last done by K.J. Carta-Samuels in 2018 against Hawaii) and he's the first CSU QB to do it in any game since Todd Centelo had 5 passing TD also against Hawaii in 2021
  • 1 of 5 FBS quarterbacks this season to throw for 5+ touchdowns in a game and the first Pac-12 QB to do it since Washington State's John Mateer had 5 against Portland State in 2024 
  • Completed a pass to 10 different receivers
  • Had a streak of 10 straight completions during the game  
  • His lone reception on the flea-flicker helped set up the opening-drive touchdown to set the tone for the Rams offense
  • The longest pass of the night came on a 57-yard strike to RJ Vick for one of their three touchdown connections on the night
  • Named to Davey O'Brien Great 8 for Week 1 and added to the Davey O'Brien Award Midseason Watch List

DEFENSE:  Oumar Diomande, 4th year, LB, Colorado State (Bronx, N.Y.)
  • Tied for the team lead with 11 tackles (4 solo, 7 assists)
  • 6th time in his career that Diomande has had 10+ tackles in a game after doing it 5 times last season for Connecticut
  • Had one of the team’s three interceptions on the day, the first of his career. The pick led to a CSU touchdown two plays later to out the Rams up 21-13
  • A part of a defensive effort which forced 4 turnovers and limited Wyoming to 273 yards of total offense  
  • CSU finished the game with 14 points off turnovers

SPECIAL TEAMS:  Jaylon Hawkins, 2nd year, WR/KR, San Diego State (Argyle, Texas)
  • In just his fifth career game, he brought back a kick return 100 yards for a touchdown, the first of his career, in a 53-20 win over Portland State
  • It was SDSU’s first kick return touchdown by an Aztec since Jordan Byrd vs. San Jose State on Nov. 12, 2022
  • It was SDSU’s first 100-yard kick return touchdown since Byrd had one at Utah on Sept. 18, 2021 and was the ninth in SDSU’s Division I history (since 1969)
  • 1 of 3 FBS players so far this season to have a kick return of 100 yards for a touchdown and the first Pac-12 player to return a kickoff for a 100-yard touchdown since Cal's Jaydn Ott against UCLA in 2023
  • Was a part of an Aztec special teams unit that blocked two punts and returned a kick for a touchdown. SDSU became the first FBS team since at least the 2012 season to block two punts and return a kick for a touchdown in the same game
  • He returned three kickoffs for 141 yards overall
  • The 141 kick return yards were the most in Snapdragon Stadium history, while the 100-yard return was the first in stadium history

FRESHMAN:  Jesse Legree, 1st year, WR, Oregon State (Baltimore, Md.)
  • Caught 5 passes for 136 yards in his collegiate debut.  Its the most receiving yards in a game by an FBS freshman so far this season
  • Believed to be the first Beaver to surpass 100 yards receiving in his first ever collegiate game and is the most receiving yards in a game by an OSU freshman since redshirt freshman Jordan Villamin had 140 against Cal in 2014
  • Scored a 7-yard touchdown reception in the second half for his first career score
  • Caught a 71-yard pass in the first half, the first of 60 or more yards by a Beaver since 2023. Totaled 40 YAC on the play and is the longest receivng play by an FBS freshman so far this season
  • 9th Beaver to average at least 27.2 yards per catch - minimum 4 catches - on the road since 1996
