Gordon Marshall Named MPSF/KAP 7 Player of the Week, Again

Nov 17, 2014

LOS ANGELES -- The MPSF announced today that UCLA sophomore center Gordon Marshall (Newcastle, Australia) has been named the MPSF/Kap7 Player of the Week.

He led UCLA to a 16-8 regular season-ending home win over No. 4 Long Beach State last Saturday, helping the No. 1 Bruins complete MPSF play with a perfect 8-0 record. The result marked the first time since 2004 that UCLA went undefeated in conference games.

Marshall scored four goals against the 49ers, one off his career-high. The first three goals were at full strength while the last one was on a power play. The four goals moved him to third on the team in scoring with 35 (1.84 goals per game), which also ranks 15th in the MPSF.

Marshall is one of two players in the MPSF to repeat this award in 2014, joining Stanford’s Drew Holland.

Also Nominated: Brady Moore (PAC); Dan Matulis (LBSU); Byron Rivers (UCI); Bret Bonanni (STAN); Marc Vonderweidt (USC).
