CORVALLIS, Ore. – Sophomore Kathryn Baker has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 8 First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced today.
Baker holds a 3.95 GPA as a pre-environmental engineering major, and has been a constant presence for the Beavers this season, helping the team hold three shutouts. Baker has started all 37 games Oregon State has played since she joined the team last year, helping to lock down a solid back-four. Her 1,588 minutes this season leads the team.
The Vancouver, British Columbia, native was named a Pac-12 Honorable Mention last season, for her efforts at centerback and has continued to perform at a high level this year. In addition to her defensive prowess, Baker has provided a threat from set-pieces, taking four shots this year.
The Beavers are on the road this week, as they head to the Bay Area for matchups with California and Stanford.
