The 2014 UCLA baseball recruiting class, which was recently ranked No. 7 overall by Baseball America, was ranked the No. 12 class in the country by Perfect Game USA on Monday. Freshman infielder, Sean Bouchard, who is a Perfect Game USA top-100 prospect, was named the “class jewel” by the organization. This marks the third straight year that the Bruins have earned a Top-25 class in the Perfect Game USA rankings.
The 12 players comprising the class, all natives of California, are right-handers Jake Bird (West Ranch HS), Griffin Canning (Santa Margarita HS), Nathan Hadley (Loyola HS), Matt Trask (Davis HS) and Matt Walker (Clovis North HS), left-hander Garrett Barker (Laguna Hills HS), infielders Sean Bouchard (Cathedral Catholic HS), Zander Clarke (Newbury Park HS), Scott Jarvis (Bellarmine HS) and Nick Valaika (Hart HS) and catchers Daniel Rosica (Fountain Valley HS) and Casey Worden (Saddleback JC).
