As the NBA kicks off this week, take a look at how the eight former Huskies who are currently playing on NBA rosters faired. UW’s eight active NBA players tie for the ninth most by a power five conference school. Quincy Pondexter started four out of the seven preseason games for the Memphis Grizzlies. He started one game at shooting guard, while playing the other six games at small forward. Pondexter averaged 11.3 points and 24 minutes per game while shooting 44.0 percent from the field. Pondexter helped the Memphis Grizzlies to a 3-5 preseason record.
Terrence Ross started seven preseason games, six at small forward and one at shooting guard, for the Toronto Raptors. Ross’ 25.8 minutes, .397 field-goal percentage, 11.0 points, and 3.1 rebounds per game helped the Raptors to a 7-1 record in the preseason, the best by an Eastern Conference team.
Tony Wroten started all seven games at point guard for the Philadelphia Sixers. Wroten put up 13.9 points per game while added 4.6 assists in 25.4 minutes. He also shot 44.8 percent from the field while leading the Sixers to a 2-6 preseason record.
Isaiah Thomas came off the bench in all seven games for his new team, the Phoenix Suns. Thomas averaged 14.1 points and 4.1 assists in 22.9 minutes per outing. He also shot 90 percent from the free throw line and helped the Suns post a 5-2 preseason record.
Nate Robinson, who was traded in the offseason from the Chicago Bulls to the Denver Nuggets, saw action in five games at the point position. Robinson averaged 12.1 minutes and 5.0 points in those five games. The Nuggets finished the preseason with a 2-6 record.
Spencer Hawes, who also joins a new team this year, started two of the eight games for the Los Angeles Clippers. Hawes averaged 24.8 minutes, 11.4 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 45.8 percent from the field.
Rookie C.J. Wilcox, who was drafted 28th overall in this year’s NBA Draft, joins Hawes on the Clippers and saw action in six games at shooting guard. He averaged 7.1 minutes and 2.0 points in those six games.
Justin Holiday, who earned an official spot on the Golden State Warriors lineup at the end of preseason ,came off the bench in eight games. Holiday averaged 11.5 minutes, 5.8 points per game, and shot 43.6 percent from the field, while helping his team to a Western Conference best 6-2 record.
