Mariah Powers Receives Pac-12 Weekly Honor

SAN FRANCISCO – Washington State’s Mariah Powers was named Pac-12 Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, Monday.

Powers score the game-winner in the 107th minute as the Cougars defeated visiting Oregon 1-0, Sunday. It was the first goal at Washington State for the junior, who transferred to Pullman after her freshman season.

The Elk Grove, Calif., native was part of a back line that held the Ducks to two shots on goal as the Cougars recorded their ninth shutout of the season. With the victory, Washington State moved improved to 8-2-3 and moved into third place in the Pac-12 with a 3-2-1 mark and 10 points.
