Cats Ink Stoll, Lee for 2015-16

TUCSON, Ariz. Arizona women’s golf added two new players, Gigi Stoll and Danielle Lee, to its roster for the 2015-16 season during this week’s National Letter of Intent signing period, it was announced by head coach Laura Ianello on Friday.

“We are so excited to add Gigi Stoll and Danielle Lee and their amazing talent to our top ranked program,” Ianello said. “These ladies will be two freshmen who will add additional depth to our program. The two of them are going to make an immediate impact on our program and sky is limit for both of them. We look forward to watching them grow and mature wearing Cardinal and Navy.”

In the middle of her senior basketball season, Gigi Stoll will join the Wildcats next season. Stoll won the Junior Girls Player of the Year award from the Pacific Northwest Golf Association. She’s a native of Tigard, Ore. and will graduate from Beaverton High School in the spring.

In addition to reaching the Oregon Amateur final, Stoll won the Oregon Junior Girls Amateur, Stroke Play and Tournament of Champions titles, qualified for the U.S. Junior Girls Championship; tied for fourth in the Callaway Junior World event, and tied for 10th in the PGA Junior Girls. Stoll also won the 2012 Class 6A state championship.

Danielle Lee, from La Mirada, Calif., will join the Wildcats next season. A senior at La Mirada High School, At the CIF State Southern California qualifier on Wednesday, she had six birdies and finished with a four-under-par 68 for a four-way tie for first place to advance to state for the second consecutive year.

The Wildcats will next compete at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, CA on Feb 8-10.
