Nov 6, 2014

TUCSON, Ariz.--- The University of Arizona Men’s Tennis team will split up for this weekend’s tournament action, as half the squad will head to Sarasota, Florida for the Dickie V Clay Court Classic and the rest will travel to Los Angeles, California to compete in the Jack Kramer Club Invitational in what will mark the final fall tournaments of the season for the Cats.

Competing in the Dickie V Clay Court Classic this weekend will be junior Jason Jaruvang and freshmen David Mushayev. The tournament provides a familiar setting for the Wildcats, as this will be their third straight year participating in the event.

First and second round of singles action begins at 9:00 a.m. on Friday morning, followed by doubles action after. Jaruvang (4-3 singles) and Mushayev will be competing in doubles action together for the first time this season, as Mushayev also looks to clinch his first singles victory of the fall.

Junior Naoki Takeda and freshmen Shoki Kasahara will make the trek west to California to compete in the Jack Kramer Club Invitational.

Both enter the weekend on a roll, as Takeda boasts a stellar 6-2 singles mark thus far, while Kasahara owns a singles record of 6-3. The two have paired up to go 1-1 in doubles action this fall.
