TEMPE, Ariz.— Sun Devil Head Men’s Basketball Coach Herb Sendek will join Buddy Hobart (President and CEO, Solutions 21) for a signing of their book, Gen Y Now: Millennials and the Evolution of Leadership, on November 11 at Desarrollo Tech Center on Mill. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and include insights from Herb and Buddy about how the idea was first sparked and the challenges addressed in the book.
Registration is free but limited to the first 100 who register. In addition to hearing the authors speak and the book signing, each attendee will receive a copy of the book. This book launch will have a more laid-back feel than most traditional launches and will feature one of the most progressive, tech-savvy, and collaborative work environments in the country as the backdrop.
Sendek, whose head coaching record stands at 395-279 (.586), has spent eight seasons as Arizona State’s head basketball coach where he boasts a 141-121 (.538) record. He has numerous accolades to go along with his name including 2009-2010 Pac-10 Coach of the Year. Coach Sendek has coached 2014 NBA Champion Jeff Pendergraph (Ayres), 2012 Olympic gold medalist James Harden, and most recently, the 2012-2013 Co-Freshman of the Year, Jahii Carson, and 2013-14 NCAA leading shot blocker and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year Jordan Bachynski. Shaping the minds of young people and helping them become leaders is just one thing at which he excels. With this book, he shows his versatility as a person and as a coach.
